About this event
Racers, we are sorry to have to cancel tomorrow's RallyX event at Big Lake.
With today's forecast of 45 degrees and rain, an overnight low above freezing, and a daytime high Saturday of 47 degrees, we are concerned about the potential for significant amounts of standing water and slush on the race surface.
All entrants who have already paid their fees will be refunded in full. Please spread the word to your fellow competitors to prevent anyone from showing up at the track Saturday morning.
Regards,
Marshall Carter
RallyX Steward

Our third and final RallyCross of the 2017 winter season is coming up soon!
Take note, this event will be on a Saturday this time. Come join us on April 1 for one last spin around the ice track at Big Lake!

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM - Registration and Tech
10:45 Driver Safety Meeting
11:15 First car on course

Enter the lake at the South State Boat Launch area, at 4678 S Big Lake Rd, Wasilla, AK 99654. In mid-March, the ice thickness was measured at 43-48" thick and safe for automobiles. Since this event will be held on a frozen lake, snow tires are recommended, and studded tires are permitted.
Event requirements
REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
Online registration is open until 10:30am on April 1st. You could wait until you get to the lake to register, but pre-registration REALLY makes things easier on our Timing crew.
SCCA membership is required to be able to enter. Event entry fees are $35 for regular members, or $50 if you need a weekend membership. The additional $15 from up to two weekend memberships can be used towards your full membership later if you decide to join.
CLASSES, CAR PREPARATION AND MODIFICATIONS
Event classing will follow the national classes for RallyCross, with Stock, Prepared, or Modified preparation categories split up by drivetrain into all wheel drive, front wheel drive, or rear wheel drive, for a total of 9 classes: SA, SF, SR, PA, PF, PR, MA, MF, or MR. The complete rules are available here: SCCA RallyCross Rules
Please note that the national RallyCross Rules prohibit homemade studded tires using bolts or screws, and only allow street-legal studs (Rules 3.3.c.2 and 3.3.d.10).
Competitors must bring a valid drivers license to registration, and a helmet is required before driving on course. Helmets meeting Snell SA2005, M2005, K2005 or newer, SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A, British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR, or ECE 22.05 standards are acceptable. Loaner helmets may be available at the event.
Vehicles with a high center of gravity (lifted trucks) may not be allowed to compete. This decision will be made at the discretion of the Event Chairman, Tech Inspector, and Safety Steward.
All competitors are expected to work a corner when not driving, so bring appropriate winter clothing and boots. We will have a short lunch break between runs, but lunch will not be provided. There aren't many quick food options close to the lake, so we recommend you bring your own lunch.
