The 2016 Audi Club Golden Gate Chapter "Gold Country Drive" is set for Saturday, September 24th.
Meeting Location: Starbucks in El Dorado Hills Town Center, 4311 Town Center Blvd., El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
We will meet at Starbucks at 8:00am, then drive the scenic Latrobe Road and State Route 49 to a brief rest stop in Sutter Creek. We will then head out into the Gold Country to the town of Murphys.
Rich in goldrush history, Murphys is a vibrant, thriving community of approximately 2,000 residents, alive with art galleries and live theater, eclectic shops and fine restaurants.
Lunch will be at Alchemy in Murphys, and is included in the cost of the drive. There will be several items to choose from. Alcoholic beverages not included.
This is a beautiful scenic drive through not-often traveled parts of Sacramento, Amador and Calaveras counties with plenty of photo opportunities and places to get out and stretch your legs. With plenty of great driving roads in the area, we will have no shortage of twists and turns through the foothills.
The lunch stop will be at around 11:30 am and we'll conclude the drive after lunch. Join us for a day of exploring some great countryside, twisty roads, meeting new friends, and enjoying the performance of your Audis (note: all other makes are welcome). There are plenty of places to go and see around the area as you travel home after the drive as well.
The cost of the drive is $35 per person and registration fee includes lunch, water and swag.
As a footnote, the Ironstone Concours d'Elegance will be taking place in Murphy's from 10:00am - 4:30pm at Ironstone Vineyards. It is a great event and if you want to purchase tickets or get more information go to http://www.ironstonefoundation.org/event-information/
